Cerchi la classica commediola romantica, e ti ritrovi un film di cui il senso lo sa solo il regista.
Sette amici si ritrovano per il matrimonio dell’ultima coppia rimasta nel gruppo: Lila e Tom. Peccato che non sia tutto così rose e fiori.. Tom e Laura (la damigella d’onore) infatti sono stati insieme per anni..
Sembra il classico chick flick vero? Si rivedono al matrimonio, scoprono di essere ancora innamorati, la sposa cattiva viene lasciata all’altare. No! Di chick flick qua non c’è niente, se non l’incipit.
Il film ruota intorno al classico dilemma: meglio stare con la persona che si ama talmente tanto da rischiare di distruggersi a vicenda, o con quella con cui si potrebbe vivere in pace per 50 anni? Un po’ alla Cime Tempestose se mi passate il paragone. Tom (Josh Duhamel) è Catherine, Laura (Katie Holmes) è Heathcliff e Lila (Anna Paquin) è Edgard. Peccato che in tutto ciò manchino una passione sfrenata che si riesca a percepire e una trama che eviti che lo spettatore si addormenti.
Poi ok, io magari parto prevenuta, perchè Sophie Paquin proprio non la sopporto. Sembra quasi che in ogni film le diano la parte del personaggio che sicuramente odierò di più, senza contare che ha la classica “faccia da schiaffi”. Va beh, tralasciamo.
Katie Holmes invece mi è piaciuta, mi ha ricordato un sacco la vecchia Joey Potter di Dawson’s Creek.. Anche Adam Brody non è che si scostasse poi tanto dal Seth Cohen di The O.C.: imbranato, nervoso, preso dalle paranoie. C’è da dire che di film con lui ne ho visti negli ultimi tempi, ed il personaggio bene o male rimane sempre quello.
Diciamo che la sufficienza a questo film va solo per qualche scambio di battute, la recitazione della Holmes e la presenza (che è sufficiente) di Duhamel. Per il resto, inutile.

Quello che ho pensato tutto il tempo è che sarebbe potuta essere una bella commedia romantica, se avessero aggiunto qualche scena divertente, messo dei dialoghi accattivanti, o anche un “dramma romantico” (non so come chiamarlo) se avessero arricchito un po’ la storia, che ne so..con dei flashblack sulla storia passata!
Cosi mi è risultato un po’ uno e un po’ l’altro..che alla fine vuol dire nessuno dei due!
Comunque l’ho guardato solo per Adam Brody eh, che lo amo tanto.
PS: il protagonista è il marito di Fergie, non lo sapevo. Che brutti gusti che ha!
Ma va è suo marito?? Mi piace un sacco lui, ultimamente l’ho visto anche in Life As We Know It! (tra l’altro..2 settimane e ancora devo recensirlo..)
Comunque questo film era piuttosto assurdo. Leggendo in rete però pare che il libro (ovviamente non uscito in Italia) sia decisamente migliore, perchè copre le mancanze del film, tra cui i flashback di cui parli..
